Medical Eye Care in Sherman Oaks

Medical Eye Care in Sherman Oaks
At RevitalEyes Optometry, we provide medical optometry services in addition to routine vision exams. Our California-licensed optometrists evaluate, diagnose, and manage many common eye conditions, prescribe medications when clinically indicated (within the California scope of optometry), and coordinate referral to ophthalmology, hospital-based care, or other medical providers when advanced or surgical management is required.

Urgent Evaluations & Eye Concerns
If you are experiencing new or worsening symptoms, we can often provide a same-day urgent evaluation during our regular office hours. Based on your exam findings, we may provide in-office treatment, prescribe medication when appropriate (within the California scope of optometry), or coordinate same-day referral to ophthalmology or emergency services when needed. If you have severe eye pain, sudden vision loss, a “curtain” over vision, significant trauma, chemical exposure, or a high-velocity injury (for example, metal-on-metal grinding), call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room immediately. If you are unsure whether your symptoms are urgent or worsening rapidly, seek emergency medical care right away. We provide urgent assessments for issues including:
- Red / Inflamed Eye Concerns
- Eye infections & red eyes (bacterial, viral, or allergic conjunctivitis)
- Persistent or worsening red eye
- Subconjunctival hemorrhage (broken blood vessel)
- Contact lens–related irritation or possible corneal infection/keratitis (evaluation and referral when indicated)
- Sudden Vision Changes
- Sudden onset of flashes and floaters (assessment for retinal concerns and referral when indicated)
- Sudden blurry vision or loss of peripheral vision
- New visual distortion or sudden vision changes
- Pain / Light Sensitivity
- Acute ocular pain
- Sudden light sensitivity (photophobia)
- Anterior Segment Urgencies
- Corneal abrasions (scratches)
- Sudden foreign body sensation or surface irritation
- Contact lens complications
- Injuries / Chemical Exposure
- Ocular trauma (evaluation and referral when indicated)
- Chemical exposure (rinse immediately and seek urgent evaluation; referral when indicated)
- Follow-Up & Rechecks
- Post–eye injury follow-up
- Worsening symptoms after initial treatment
Diagnostic Testing (As Indicated)
When clinically appropriate, we may use imaging and diagnostic testing to evaluate the front and back of the eye. This helps guide treatment decisions, monitor healing, and determine when referral is appropriate.
